I've posted before about Grand Rapids based designer Pixel + Hank. Daisy, the founder of Pixel + Hank, runs an Etsy shop that is full of gorgeous bridal and everyday accessories. Photographer extraordinaire Amy Carroll just posted the photo shoot of Pixel + Hank's new Spring 2012 collection, and I DIE! I am head over heels in love with these turbans and well, all of Daisy's amazing creations! Here is a peek of the collection photographed by Amy...click here to see Amy's full blogpost!
These items are not new to the Pixel + Hank collection, but two of my favorite, more traditional bridal accessories that can be found here and here:

Misty Farms
Quite a few people contact me to ask how much it costs to have a wedding at Misty Farms...between property rental and additional rental items...it all depends...
...on how many rental items you need, including tables, chairs, linens, tent, plus any additional extras (such as clean up). In addition, they are always making improvements to the Misty Farm property, such as the installation of two new gorgeous copper bars in both barns.
Contact Kelly Frutig at Misty Farms for more detailed information:

Something New
Your "Something New" could be as simple as your new wedding gown...
...or how about a new piece of jewelry?

Did I mention that our very own The Gown Shop Ann Arbor will be carrying the Ivy & Aster line!? Woot!!!
...or a new pair of gorgeous shoes!
There's a good chance you might get some lingerie at one of your shower's or your bachelorette party - wearing some new undergarments could also be considered your "something new!"

Green & Eco-Friendly Wedding Venues
Ann Arbor is so blessed with some amazing barns and outdoor locations full of beautiful landscaping, flowers, and overall aesthetics. Sometimes the impact statement of your wedding already exists - you just have to find it.
All of these places also have an indoor component, and they allow you to bring in your own vendors so you can choose what tables, linens, flowers, food, etc. is chosen for your green and eco-friendly weddding. I think these pictures really speak for themselves, and I must say...the photographers who took these pictures are without a doubt at the top of my list of not only amazing photographers, but amazing people...Amy Carroll, Abby Rose & A Girl In Love (Melissa Squires).

Metro Detroit Ceremony & Reception Venue - Grosse Pointe War Memorial
I had a consultation this weekend with a bride who is having her ceremony & reception at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial in 2012 and it reminded me how much I love this venue, how amazing the staff is there, and what great deal it is (especially if you are a resident of Grosse Pointe). If you are not a resident of Grosse Pointe you can only book the Memorial within a year of your requested date. Regardless of whether you are a resident of Grosse Pointe, a family member must be a veteran or currently serving in the armed forces in order to book the War Memorial for your wedding.
With very generous pricing, wonderful staff, a beautiful backdrop AND being able to bring in your own alcohol, the Grosse Pointe War Memorial is a great, great deal. Below are some amazing pictures taken by the fabulous Amy Carroll (to see more pictures click here):

Flower Girls
I didn't have a flower girl in my wedding, but my daughter has been asked to be a flower girl in my sister's wedding and I am SO EXCITED! There are so many fun & unique ways to make the flower girl stand out and be cute, yet stylish and unique. Below are some of my favorite details I have seen incorporated into the the attire of the flower girl:
How adorable is this hat?????!
Who says a pillow is just for the ring bearer?
Love the uniqueness of this seersucker flower girl dress along with the matching hair bow!
How adorable is this hat?????!

Love the colored sashes as a touch of color on these cuties!
A flower girl in a tutu? Yes please! Love the flower detail and the jewel adorned sandals worn by this girl:
And last, but not least...the flower girl getting ready with the "big girls" - melts my heart <3

Grooms Socks (Part Deux)
I recently did a post on some really cool grooms socks - a super cool trend that shows off the personality of the groom and puts a personal touch on the day. Take a look at some of the great ways photographers are able to capture this detail of the day:

Real Wedding 2010 ~ Misty Farms ~ Ann Arbor, Michigan
I'm not going to lie when I say I have been stalking Amy Carroll's blog now for over two weeks! She is the amazing photographer behind Sara & Trevor's fabulous vintage, rustic, farm wedding at Misty Farms in Ann Arbor. You can click on Amy's name above to view her entire blog post.
I have known Sara since high school. She has always been sweet as a button, and not to mention amazingly beautiful. I was estatic when she asked if we would provide day of coordination services for her wedding at Misty Farms in Ann Arbor. Misty Farms is a new wedding & reception venue located off Scio Church Road. It is breathtakingly gorgeous; and a lot of work. Frankly, I don't see how you can have a wedding here without a coordinator...but that's just my two cents ;)
Sara & Trevor's day was full of amazing details, and I couldn't have been more honored to help Sara organize and execute them.

Sara & Tevor are HUGE University of Michigan fans as you can tell by the picture of Trevor's cufflinks above and this picture on the block 'M' - One of my favorite parts of their reception was when they made their formal entrance to the Michigan fight song - Go Blue!

As you can tell from the two pictures above, Misty Farms is a unique location full of all kinds of animals! Sara & Trevor embraced them and they made for some really cool photo opportunities :)
It hadn't rained all day, and of course, with one minute until cocktail hour, a heavy sprinkle came down. We immediately high-tailed it into action, moving the bar and food inside the barn so guests could enjoy the hour without getting wet.
A PBR toast - how creative!

Thank you to Sara & Trevor for allowing us to be a part of your amazing day! xoxo
