Wooden Wedding Signs

This wedding season we're seeing very personal twists on the rustic, vintage, shabby-chic design aesthetic. We found some VERY cute wooden weddings signs that come in awesome colors, that you can personalize, and that are just plain FUN!  After all, isn't that what having a big celebration is all about!?

9.17.11 | jess + ryan

As the 2012 wedding season rolls in, I am so inspired by this disc of images I received from Jess + Ryan's wedding last fall.  Jess is the definition of a DIY bride.  She procured everything from the vintage tablecloths to the blue mason jars, the apples + name tags for the escort cards, the wooden "dancing" sign, the vintage suitcases, and she even made the boutonnieres!  Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Misty Farms on a PERFECT fall day here in Michigan!

The awesome thing about a venue like Misty Farms is that you can make it as modern or as vintage as you would like.  Jess chose to make her wedding ultra vintage and one of my favorite details was her brooch bouquet.  Jess asked each woman who attended her bridal shower to bring a brooch and used those to create this amazing brooch bouquet masterpiece:

Some of my favorite parts about planning + coordinating weddings are not just seeing the final product come to life, but also the relationships that are built in the process, and the back stories of our couples and their families.  Jess + Ryan have quite the story, and we are honored that Jess + Ryan invited us to be a special part of their life.  A huge thanks to Mishelle Lamarand for being not only perfectly capturing the love that surrounded Jess + Ryan on this day, but who graciously shared her images with me so I can share them with you.

outdoor garden style bridal shower

this past saturday we had the pleasure of assisting one of our previous clients in planning a co-ed bridal shower for her & her new husbands friends.  the skies looked threatening all day, so thank goodness the shower was under a pavilion at a nearby park.  of course i forgot to take pictures of half the detail items (ugh) but here are a few that i managed to sneak in during the day!

family photos

displaying family photos at your wedding is a wonderful tribute to your heritage and the people who have brought you to where you are today.  there are so many creative ways to display family photos.  here are a few of our favorites:

love the mix of old polaroids and family photos in vintage frames arranged artfully in an old suitcase
