9.17.11 | jess + ryan

As the 2012 wedding season rolls in, I am so inspired by this disc of images I received from Jess + Ryan's wedding last fall.  Jess is the definition of a DIY bride.  She procured everything from the vintage tablecloths to the blue mason jars, the apples + name tags for the escort cards, the wooden "dancing" sign, the vintage suitcases, and she even made the boutonnieres!  Their wedding ceremony and reception took place at Misty Farms on a PERFECT fall day here in Michigan!

The awesome thing about a venue like Misty Farms is that you can make it as modern or as vintage as you would like.  Jess chose to make her wedding ultra vintage and one of my favorite details was her brooch bouquet.  Jess asked each woman who attended her bridal shower to bring a brooch and used those to create this amazing brooch bouquet masterpiece:

Some of my favorite parts about planning + coordinating weddings are not just seeing the final product come to life, but also the relationships that are built in the process, and the back stories of our couples and their families.  Jess + Ryan have quite the story, and we are honored that Jess + Ryan invited us to be a special part of their life.  A huge thanks to Mishelle Lamarand for being not only perfectly capturing the love that surrounded Jess + Ryan on this day, but who graciously shared her images with me so I can share them with you.
